I recently started working for London food magazine The Jellied Eel. My first assignment was a feature on food start up incubators.
I had a teeny ulterior motive for wanting to work on this feature. For the past two years I have been dreaming about starting my own novelty ice lolly business (if you must know, it's called WikiLicks and all my ice creams will be named after figures in politics, The Edward Snow Cone, The Margarita Thatcher...you get the picture).
Knowing the failure rate for new business is a horrifying 9 in 10, I thought doing some research about the help on offer to food entrepreneurs would be a smart move! Speaking to Food Foundry, Kitchen Table Projects and The London Cooking Project I was pleased to find that the path to success is smoother when you don't walk alone.
