This year I had an opportunity to travel to Lesbos, Greece and teach a group of locals and refugees documentary film-making. It ended up being one of the most creative and rewarding weeks I can remember.
I was working with The Office of Displaced Designers, an architecture and design organisation facilitating skills sharing. Their office is based in Mytilene, and regularly hosts workshops, classes and events for both displaced persons and locals.
Our students, most of whom had no experience of film-making, all made a one minute documentaries with the week, around the themes of Resilience, Vulnerability and Self Esteem. They were then shown at a community screening in Mytilene, and they are amazing. You can see them all here.
And if you want to see a snapshot of our awesome week, here you go..
